I came across this Navajo poem. It presents a unique perspective. I always feared being caught outside in a thunder-storm. One day I was nearly struck by lightning. In the Navajo tradition, thunder is believed to have healing powers. They also believe that thunder is a bird that flaps its wings. There are other interpretations of what these natural phenomena are in different cultures. Next time you see lightning or hear rolling thunder I will try talking to the thunder. With all due respect I am not too sure about how to talk to the tornado. But I suppose being in communication and in touch with nature may produce some positive things. Tell me what you think.
Know things in nature
like a person
talk to tornadoes
talk to thunder
they are your friends
and will protect you.
